Final Reflection

Early in the year, I learned the importance of working with camera angles, shots sound effects music, special effects and also editing. Some of the things I mention I didn’t know how to do. For example, I didn’t know that you could add special effects to a video. Or the camera angles, I didn’t know that there were so many of them. You can see that in my first film, I didn’t include special effects because I didn’t know how to do them. I didn’t do this especially in the scene were imp talking about myself and what I like to do. I could have added special effects but I didn’t know how to do it before. Later in the year, I showed that I really had learned that concept well, since I started showing this in the last videos that we did, specially the "Jabberwocky" video. My partner and I included many special effects, for example we used the mosaic effect also the color replace which was one of my favorites because you could change the color of any video. My favorite scene from the Jabberwocky video was when we showed a dragon but we transformed it because when we got the picture it was black and white to a red and black color. I got to say that another of my favorite videos where we used a lot of special effects was the “The Water is wide" music video assignment. That video not only had a lot of special effects but also had abstract pictures. Collaborating with other people was the best part of making the video because it gave us the opportunity of getting to know each other but also to bring new and better ideas to the project. I learned the inportance of the responsability we had to bring in a group. Also communication was a big part of being in a team and getting along with each other. My group was without a doubt and excellent group and I am so proud of the and Im also proud of myself and all the hard work I brought to this class. I can honesty say I was really fortunate to have this class. This class was actually the only class were I got to include all my ideas and make them into a video. I honesty learned so many things in this class about making and watching films. I learned more when other people showed there video because it actually gave me more ideas of how to do my videos better or add more stuff into it. Watching videos was my favorite part of this class because I got to the work other people made. I got say that everyone in this class did an amazing job because we all did our best and brought new and different ideas. I learned words and vocabulary that I didn’t know. For example I didn’t know what an establishing shot was, or an over the shoulder shot. I learned things about a camera that I didn’t know existed. Shots and angles were something I didn’t know. Each day in this class was a day that I got to learning something new. I believe I not only learned computer things but also learned how to work in group or a team. This experience of having this class was awesome! I honesty didn’t think this class was going to be fun. Working with people and getting to know them was an incredible experience. I’m really glad I got these classes. Now I can go out and film with my camera and do different types of shot and angles and also edit the video and transform it into a better one. I want to thank you Dr. A for letting us stay after class and during lunch even after school just so we finish our work. I’m going to miss this class, but like I said, I will always remember all of this.

Extra Credit Special Effects

Jabberwocky

Reflection: For the special effects we used color replace. We used the colorfrom black and white to red and black. Using this effect helped us to make the picture that we used better. The black and white colors that we had didnt make the picture look interesting. We tried to communicate an advantareous and battled mood. Like a prince trying to rescue the princesses from the dragon. The images we used were pretty cool because we tried to communicate that there was a battle going on. Overall i think Casssy and I did an amazing job.

Special Effects Video

Instructions: For the first effect we inserted the clip into the timeline. Then we went under Video Effects and then opened the Distort folder. Once opened, we grabbed the Wave Warp effect and dragged it onto the first clip. Once done with that, we double clicked the clip and the went to the Source Panel and clicked on effects. There we set key frames for the wave type at 1 seconds and then the next at 4 seconds. After we set Pinning and set 3 more key franes at 1, 2, and 3 secind key frames. Then we moved on to the next clip. For this one we went under Video Effects and opened the Styleze folder. Then we dragged the Strobe Light effect onto the second clip. After we went to the source panel and clicked on effects. Once done with that, we changed the strobe color to red. Also, we changed the Blend With to 47% and did a Random Strobe at 46%. We also set 3 keyframes under the Strobe option at 8, 9, and 10 seconds. Finally we went under Strobe Operation and set 2 keyframes under 8 and 9 seconds.
